About

Hello dear Readers and thanks for visiting www.yumandmore.com!

karinLet me tell you a little about myself: my name is Karin Stienemeier and I live in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
I am a 50+ American of German/French/Russian descent who grew up in the US and France and has now lived in  Germany for over 30 years. I am married to a German social media consultant.

Our son is almost 16. We love to watch funny and off the wall movies (Mel Brooks, Monty Python, Quentin Tarrantino, etc.) talk in 3 languages at the same time, and of course TRAVEL and dive. My greatest passion is cooking and reading. I’m a self-taught good cook who loves working with tastes and spices and has a hard time writing down the almost 30 ingredients that go into my delicious sauces.

My cooking is multi-national.

When we travel we try to always rent a house as I prefer to cook my own food while discovering local ingredients and flavors. In general we have a hard time eating hotel or restaurant food for more than a few days.

“Yum and more” is themed on the look and (drools) when people eat my food and go YUMMMMMMM

I write my blog in English as it is my mother tongue but I also speak German and French fluently and understand Spanish.

Aside from cooking and traveling I love reading, birdwatching and enjoying nature on one of my many walks.

I hope you enjoy what you find here and send me your comments!

Karin

Come on over and visit and let us know what you think!

P.S. I run a translation business for texts, websites and marketing material from German into English on the side

I don’t have a blog, just an italian wife who loves to cook. I am the sous-chef. I’m also a French and Spanish teacher. I guess we both love language and food! S

Hi Karin! Lovely to find a blog with Germany recipes… from a non-German perspective. We were living in Frankfurt from 2004-2008… so Ich bin Deutsch ein bischen! Happy to find you. Thanks for your RT on Twitter:)
